A brave new world is upon us as on 29 January 2021, Mr. Justice O’Moore of the High Court directed the first ever fully remote witness hearing in the Commercial division of the High Court under the Civil Law and Criminal Law Jurisdiction Act 2020.  This new legislation heralds the way for parties to Irish commercial litigation to have their matters dealt with expeditiously and business litigation to continue efficiently whilst taking account of Covid-19 restrictions.  This milestone was crossed in the action – IBRC -v- Tom Browne – and the Arthur Cox team of Eve Mulconry, Conor McClements and Tara Roche are acting for IBRC in the matter.
